New Vistas: Next Steps

New Vistas is a project presented by Humber College’s Arts Administration and Cultural Management Program, in partnership with the City of Toronto. The goal of the program is to hold a month-long gallery exhibit at ECCAG in tandem with a performance at Assembly Hall in December that supports artists from equity deserving communities (focus on IBPOC, deaf, persons with disabilities and 2SLGBTQIA+).

The Art of Celebration

The Art of Celebration: Black Culture and Creativity explores the work of eight talented black-identifying artists. Through their vastly different works of art ranging from paint to mix media to video, each artist explores what it means to be black and live in their joy, love and culture. At a time so prevalently divided, to lead with love is a radical act. This exhibition focuses on these radical acts of celebration in life and how the focus on this love builds a stronger, more powerful community.

How does the world perceive our physical attributes such as hair, culture and how do we internalize
